It's that "sunny every day" time of year here in Laguna Beach, and so far it has held pretty darn true. We barely saw any "June Gloom" the past month, and July has been averaging in the high 70s to low 80s.
Did someone mention surf? It has already been a great summer of surf and the summer's just begun. We had a couple swells over the past two weeks and some 70 degree water temps to go with it. Brooks Street (a left-break favorite) was coming in around 5-6 feet on sets with most all other breaks closely following in size (as size does matter when it comes to waves!). Of course, you don't only get the surf and sun, we are also tortured with an endless amount of bikini-clad beauties basking in the sun and strolling down the beaches. The summer life is truly hard work here in Laguna Beach.
The world famous Festival of Arts and The Pageant of the Masters opened this past weekend, along with the infamous Sawdust Festival, marking the starting line for the race into summer here. This is when the tourists all but take over the town and beaches (other than the local beach hideaways) for the next seven weeks. The town is buzzing with beach goers and the boutique and gallery shoppers are filling the streets of this little town, while the cafes and bars are packed each night and the festivals jammed with visitors and locals alike. Come join the sun and the fun!
